When someone asks whether ezCyber can take over a screen
Screen control: Splashtop Business integration, ScreenConnect partner wanted
ezCyber does not build screen control of its own, and the reason has not changed. A Splashtop Business integration works today: turn it on under Integrations > Remote Access > Splashtop, no password and no API key. On RMM > Devices, a device we manage shows a mark in the Control column. Click it to open that exact device in your own signed-in Splashtop Business app. ezCyber is looking for a ScreenConnect partner to build the same one-click launch.
What you will have
- A straight answer for the buyer or the technician who asks whether ezCyber builds screen control: it does not, and that is a choice.
- Splashtop Business one click from the RMM device roster's Control column, on the app your technicians already have installed and signed in, at no extra Splashtop cost.
- Everything else about the device still in one place: the live PowerShell or CMD terminal, saved scripts, one-click actions, patching, inventory, and the Get Support tray door.
Why it works this way
We could build a web control agent of our own, or bundle a third-party RMM to get one.
Either would be less efficient than the tools built for that one job, and it would raise the price for every customer whether they used it or not.
Splashtop and ScreenConnect do that one job and do it well, they are priced on their own, and most shops that need screen control already run one of them.
So ezCyber does not build one, and opens the tool you already run instead.
Put Splashtop Business or ScreenConnect on the same computers as the ezCyber agent. The two never conflict.
The Splashtop Business integration carries no password, no API key and no extra Splashtop cost. Our agent reads Splashtop's own registry key on the device, so nothing Splashtop-related is stored on our side.
ScreenConnect has nothing equivalent yet, and ezCyber is looking for a ScreenConnect partner to build the same one-click launch.
Steps
Enter your Splashtop team owner email under Integrations > Remote Access > Splashtop.
That is the email for the owner of your own Splashtop Business team, not a device login. There is no password to paste and no API key to generate.
Let the agent report the streamer.
The ezCyber agent reads the Splashtop streamer's state at every check-in, including the device's own Splashtop identifier. A device then shows whether Splashtop is installed and whose team owns it, without anyone going to look.
Go to RMM > Devices and find the Control column.
A device we manage, meaning its Splashtop team owner email matches a domain you already have on file for your own company, shows a mark there once we have captured its Splashtop identifier from an agent poll. Click it to open that exact device in your own signed-in Splashtop Business app on your computer. There is no console and nothing to pick from a list. A device installed under a different team, or one we have not captured an identifier for yet, shows the mark dimmed instead.
Read the message if nothing opens.
A failed click shows the reason at the top of the screen when we know it, or "Could not start the remote connection" if we do not. Nothing here downloads a second app you did not already have.
Running ScreenConnect? Open it the way you do today.
There is no ScreenConnect launch inside ezCyber yet. ezCyber is looking for a ScreenConnect partner to build the same one-click launch, and until one exists ScreenConnect stays a tool you open yourself.
The pages behind each click
If it did not work
- Looking for a screen-sharing viewer inside ezCyber? There is not one, and no setting turns one on. The Control mark opens Splashtop's own app on your own Splashtop account.
- Control column shows dimmed, or the mark says not covered? Either Splashtop is not installed on that device yet, or it is installed under a different team than yours. Install the streamer, and check that the team owner email you saved matches your own company's domain.
- Clicked the Control mark and nothing opened? Install the Splashtop Business app on the technician's own computer and sign in, then click it again. A message names the reason when one is known.
- Need to see a machine that runs neither tool? Install one on that machine first. ezCyber cannot open a session where nothing is listening.
- Told by a competitor that a bundled screen tool is table stakes? Ask what it costs every customer who never opens it.
